This is a free online notepad that saves as you type. Write in plain text or Markdown, check the result in a live preview, and download the note as .txt or .md. There is no account and no sign-up.

What it does

• Three views: Write, Split and Preview.
• Autosave in your browser, with a word count, character count and reading time.
• Several notes, with search, plus a dark mode and a focus mode (press Esc to leave it).
• Export as plain text (.txt) or Markdown (.md).
• Read-only share links.

Your notes stay on this device. They are saved in your browser’s local storage and nothing is sent to a server. Clear your browser data and the notes are gone, so download anything you want to keep.

Share makes a read-only link. The note is packed into the link itself, after the # sign, so it never touches a server. Anyone with the link can read it and save their own copy, so keep private notes out of it.
